Peron Alliance Curriculum and Teaching (PACT)

The Peron Alliance Curriculum and Teaching (PACT) is an exciting initiative of public secondary schools in the Rockingham and Kwinana region that will see schools working together to make a range of courses available to senior students.

PACT is a collaborative partnership between seven schools. These schools include:

Comet Bay College, Gilmore College, Rockingham Senior High School, Safety Bay Senior High School, Warnbro Community High School, Rockingham SHS ESC and Warnbro CHS ESC.

School timetables and policies have been aligned across the schools so that students have access to Year 11 and 12 courses that a single stand alone school might not be able to offer.

As a result senior students in the seven PACT schools will have the option of accessing a wider range of courses, teaching expertise and resources. This greater choice brings with it greater opportunity for students to attempt highly challenging courses focussed on university pathways or career and vocational pathways. Some of these courses may necessitate students learning through online platforms, independent study and at alternative locations.

Kwinana Industries Council (KIC)

KIC is a formal agreement and commitment between Kwinana Industries Council (KIC) and 12 secondary schools located on the Rockingham Coastal strip in Western Australia. Safety Bay Senior High School is a member school of KIC, who provide pathways for students into the Kwinana Industrial Area (KIA); the home to many large industrial companies responsible for the employment of around 30,000 workers, direct and indirect.

Membership provides extra value for our students by enhancing their education and employment aspirations, cultivating relationships, utilizing partnerships and developing opportunities to build on expertise and increase articulation into the local community and industry.

The KIC also provide an Education Development Program which exposes Safety Bay Senior High School Students to the types of careers that are available in industry, and working with them in a practical sense how they might aspire to these types of careers.

The individual programs were developed in partnership with local high schools to introduce students to the careers in Kwinana’s business sector and to give them practical exposure in the KIA. There are two streams under the Education Development Program:

  1. iProjects
  2. Pre-Apprenticeships
