Cheer-Dance Specialist Program

 

The Safety Bay Senior High School Cheer-Dance Specialist Program is committed to developing strong and confident young people who strive for excellence and to reach their full potential. Our vision is to help prepare students for their next phase of life beyond school, by setting high standards and expectations.

Cheer Dance Philosophy

The program will teach valuable life lessons such as integrity, work ethic, mutual respect, accountability, and a high level of commitment.

We are dedicated to building champion athletes whilst representing our school with enthusiasm and pride.

Students from year levels 7-10 are encouraged to trial for a place in our Specialist Cheer-Dance Program. Register below and you will be contacted to arrange an individual trial.

Program Selection

Selection trials for current Year 6’s looking to become a part of our program for the following year are held once annually in Term 2. Registrations are essential to confirm your place at the trials.

Training Program

We are one of only two WA schools offering a combined Cheerleading and Dance Specialist program.

Students participate weekly in 2x Specialist Cheerleading (Physical Education) and 2x Specialist Dance (Performing Arts).

In addition, students will participate in a number of performances and competitions throughout the year, as well as have the opportunity to travel and compete Nationally.

Facilities and Equipment

Safety Bay Senior High’s Cheer-Dance Specialists Program has elite training facilities which include a 7 strip Cheerleading floor, 9m air track, Dance studio with sprung floor, mirrors and sound system.

Academic Progress

Academic progress is an important part of the Safety Bay Senior High School Cheer-Dance Specialist Program.

Students are expected to work consistently across all subjects to maintain a high standard of academic performance, behaviour and attendance.
