This week we have some fantastic events coming up, but most importantly this is a friendly reminder for all parents and carers that this Friday 27th November is a School Development Day, where students do not attend.

Students, parents, friends and community members are warmly invited to join Safety Bay Senior High School’s FREE Arts Royale 2020 Showcase on Tuesday 24th November from 5:30-7:30pm.

This family friendly event will be fun for all ages with a free bouncy castle, fairy floss and face painting available throughout the night!

The evening will feature Cheer and Dance performances from our nationally recognised Cheer-Dance Specialist Program, as well special performances from our Music and Drama students. The showcase will also have an exhibition of student photography and art from Years 7-12 along with screenings of films produced by Media students.

This Wednesday 25th November, we are excited to be holding our whole school NAIDOC Day, where students will be immersed in rich cultural experiences that explore this year’s NAIDOC theme, ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ which recognises that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples right across the country have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.

The normal timetable will be suspended, and then following an opening Assembly with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country performed by a local elder, you will participate in a range of different activities across the day with their Form group.

At the start of the day instead of heading to your Period 1 class you will need to go your regular Form room where your Form teacher will mark the roll and escort you to the Assembly area near the School amphitheatre.

If you are late on the day you will need to go to Form to sign in.

Here’s an important reminder for everyone to play their part in helping us to remain COVID-safe for our special events like Arts Royale 2020!
